Advanced Personnel Resources is seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Environmental Health and Safety Specialist for a new opportunity with our client in Greensboro. As an Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) Specialist, you will play a key role in promoting a culture of safety, environmental stewardship, and regulatory compliance within a manufacturing/industrial environment. You will support day-to-day EHS operations and serve as a vital link between leadership and employees, helping ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local requirements.

 

Pay: 45,000-55,000 DOE

Shift: 7am-4pm some flexible needed for training.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support EHS (Environmental, Health & Safety) communications across all site locations.

  • Serve as the site Emergency Coordinator and primary point of contact for EHS concerns, including after-hours response.

  • Develop and deliver EHS compliance training for employees and leadership.

  • Monitor Lockout/Tagout and PPE programs to ensure compliance and vendor performance.

  • Conduct Job Hazard Analyses (JHAs) and partner with departments to proactively reduce workplace risks.

  • Maintain accurate documentation for inspections, incidents, permits, and Safety Data Sheets (SDS).

  • Track, analyze, and report on established EHS metrics.

  • Conduct routine inspections, audits, and risk assessments.

  • Implement and manage EHS programs (e.g., Industrial Hygiene, Emergency Action Plans, Hazard Communication).

  • Escalate observed safety and environmental concerns to leadership and drive resolution.

  • Investigate incidents and unsafe conditions; develop and implement corrective actions.

  • Recommend updates to EHS policies and ensure compliance with applicable regulations.

  • Maintain and update EHS-related ISO documentation.

  • Partner with HR and EHS leadership on workers’ compensation claims.

  • Promote a strong safety culture by mentoring employees and reinforcing best practices.

  • Lead emergency preparedness efforts, including response planning, drills, and first aid readiness.
