Job Description

We are seeking a Product Transfer Operator (PTO) to join our operations team on the weekend shift. The successful candidate will have experience with sanitation in manufacturing environments and the ability to execute safe, timely product transfers while maintaining documentation and compliance standards.

Work Schedule and Contract Details:

  • Hours: Friday to Sunday, 6:00 AM - 6:00 PM
  • Contract length: 12 weeks (09/09 - 12/06)
  • Compensation: $20 - $21 per hour (W2)

Responsibilities:

  • Clean and sanitize compounding tanks and equipment, including hoses, pumps, and totes, in the correct priority based on direction or production requirements.
  • Ensure cleaning and sanitizing meet MCP standards and requirements and comply with Apex and applicable government regulations.
  • Transfer products safely and on time without compromising quality.
  • Accurately record weights for totes and drums and stage materials for warehouse locations.
  • Transfer bulk fills into appropriate vessels and complete shipment paperwork accurately.
  • Document cleaning and sanitizing activities in designated logs with timely and accurate entries.
  • Process excess inventory transactions accurately and efficiently.
  • Apply lean tools to eliminate waste, sustain 5S practices, and implement standard processes.
  • Embrace continuous improvement and perform other duties as assigned.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Experience in a manufacturing environment preferred; sanitation experience required.
  • Understanding of quality, 5S, and lean concepts is a plus.
  • Fluency in English with the ability to follow written processes and procedures.
  • Basic math skills including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and decimals.
  • Minimum age 18; high school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to pass applicable Sanitizing and MCP training programs and tests.
  • Basic computer use for email and printing forms.
  • Certification to operate electric forklifts and pallet jacks, or ability to obtain certification.
  • Able to lift at least 50 lbs, multitask, and prioritize.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience applying lean tools to drive continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrated attention to detail and adherence to safety and quality procedures.

Direction and Oversight:

None.

Work Requirements:

  • May require additional hours beyond the standard schedule based on business demand and customer needs.
  • Reliable transportation required; no overnight or day travel required.
  • Moderate to high deadline demands with interruptions for product changeovers.

Physical Requirements:

  • Continuous (6-10 hours/day): bending, squatting, pushing, pulling, climbing stairs/ladders, reaching, lifting, grasping, standing, walking, communicating, and repetitive hand/wrist movement.
  • Frequent (4-6 hours/day): moving and lifting objects up to 50 lbs.
  • Sensory: good eyesight, normal hearing, fluency in English.

Working Conditions:

  • Indoor environment that can be seasonally hot and humid.
  • Exposure to various fragrances or alcohol fumes that may be at elevated levels at times.
  • May get wet during tank cleaning activities.
