Position Overview
Big Minds, Tiny Hands is seeking a dedicated Special Education Instructor (with Speech and
Hearing Handicapped Certification - TSHH) to provide home-based Special Instruction
services to children (birth–3) with developmental delays through the Early Intervention Program.
This is a fee-for-service position offering flexible scheduling and competitive rates, with the
opportunity to work directly with children and families in their natural environment.
Responsibilities
• Provide Special Instruction services in the child’s home or community setting
• Implement individualized strategies based on IFSP goals
• Support cognitive, communication, social-emotional, and adaptive development
• Use play-based and routine-based teaching approaches
• Coach and support caregivers to carry over strategies at home
• Complete session notes and progress reports in a timely manner
Qualifications
• NYS Certification in Speech and Hearing Handicapped (TSHH) (required)
• Experience working with young children (Early Intervention or preschool preferred)
• Strong communication and organizational skills
• Ability to work independently in home-based settings
