Job Description
- Review project drawings, specifications, and scope details to build accurate construction estimates.
- Measure quantities and identify labor, material, equipment, and subcontractor costs for each project.
- Prepare bid pricing and estimate summaries that clearly outline project costs.
- Request and compare vendor and subcontractor quotes to support pricing decisions.
- Identify scope gaps, cost risks, and pricing assumptions before bids are submitted.
- Maintain organized estimate files, quote records, and supporting project documents.
- Work with Construction department contacts to clarify project requirements and estimate details.
- Update estimates when drawings, specifications, or project scope change.
The Successful Applicant
- Experience preparing construction estimates from drawings, specifications, and project scope documents.
- Ability to perform quantity takeoffs and build detailed labor and material cost estimates.
- Experience reviewing vendor and subcontractor pricing.
- Ability to identify pricing assumptions, scope gaps, and cost considerations.
- Strong attention to detail when preparing bid documents and estimate records.
- Ability to communicate estimate questions and pricing details clearly.
