Assistant Project Manager
A well-established Florida general contractor is looking to add an Assistant Project Manager (APM) to its team in the West Palm Beach area. This is an excellent opportunity for an early-career construction professional who wants to take the next step toward becoming a Project Manager. You'll work alongside experienced project leadership and gain hands-on exposure to the full construction lifecycle, from preconstruction and buyout through execution and closeout. The contractor has a long-standing presence in Palm Beach and works across commercial markets including retail and mixed-use, healthcare/senior living, office, and industrial construction.
Job Description
- Support the Project Manager with day-to-day project execution
- Assist with RFIs, submittals, change orders, procurement, and project documentation
- Coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, architects, engineers, and field teams
- Help monitor project schedules, budgets, and cost tracking
- Participate in subcontractor buyout and scope review
- Attend project and owner meetings and assist with meeting documentation
- Track long-lead materials and procurement schedules
- Support project closeout, punch lists, and turnover documentation
- Work closely with Superintendents to ensure office and field teams remain aligned

The Successful Applicant
- 1-4+ years of experience in commercial construction, ideally with a general contractor
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, Building Construction, or a related field preferred
- Experience with RFIs, submittals, change orders, and subcontractor coordination
- Familiarity with platforms such as Procore, Bluebeam, or similar construction management software
- Strong communication, organization, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced construction environment
- Based in or able to commute to the West Palm Beach / Palm Beach County area
