Job Responsibilities
- Analyze project plans and specifications to prepare accurate cost estimates.
- Collaborate with project managers, architects, and clients to understand project requirements.
- Evaluate subcontractor and supplier proposals to ensure cost-effectiveness and compliance with project specifications.
- Develop and maintain a database of material costs, labor rates, and industry trends.
- Prepare detailed bid proposals and present them to stakeholders.
- Monitor project costs and adjust estimates as necessary.
- Support value engineering efforts to optimize project budgets while maintaining quality standards.
- Participate in post-bid and project review meetings to enhance future estimating accuracy.
Qualifications
- Experience with preparing cost estimates for construction projects.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Proficiency with estimating software and tools.
- Knowledge of construction materials, methods, and industry standards.
- Effective communication and collaboration skills.
- Detail-oriented with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Educational background or certifications in construction management, engineering, or a related field.
- Experience with commercial ground ups, tenant improvement, hard bid/ public bidding
