Job Description
Develop and implement strong food safety and quality assurance programs across all operations.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local food safety regulations.
Collaborate with internal teams to maintain product quality and integrity.
Oversee audits, inspections, and certifications to ensure adherence to quality standards.
Analyze data and trends to identify areas for improvement in food safety processes.
Train and mentor staff on food safety policies and best practices.
Lead incident investigations and implement corrective actions when necessary.
Stay updated on industry standards and emerging trends in food safety.
The Successful Applicant
- Proven leadership of a plant quality team, with the standard set in person on the floor.
- USDA/FSIS experience in a meat or poultry establishment, including HACCP, SSOPs, and in-plant inspection.
- A record of building prevention into the process, not only catching failures after the fact.
- Sound product-disposition decisions against defined criteria and data.
- Ability to read process data as leading indicators and act before the issue reaches finished goods.
- 12+ years in food manufacturing food safety and quality, including leading and developing people.
- Works across the floor, the leadership team, FSIS, and customers. Can set direction with incomplete information.
