Overnight Dispatch Coordinator

When a pipe bursts at 2 a.m. or a family is standing in an inch of water, someone has to answer — and get a crew moving. That someone is you. The Overnight Dispatch Coordinator runs the after-hours nerve center for Porchlight's emergency brands, taking inbound calls, triaging urgency, and routing the nearest qualified pro to the door. This is the job behind the promise: someone's on the way.

The shift

This is an overnight role (typical schedule 10 p.m.–6 a.m. or 11 p.m.–7 a.m., including weekends and holidays on rotation) based in our Dallas dispatch center. You'll be the calm voice on the line and the steady hand on the board while most of the country is asleep — coordinating across FlowRight, DryGuard, and other brands that run 24/7.

What you'll do

• Answer inbound emergency and after-hours calls, quickly assess the situation, and determine urgency and the right brand and crew.
• Dispatch and route on-call technicians to jobs, accounting for location, availability, certification, and drive time.
• Keep customers informed — confirm the crew is coming, give honest arrival windows, and follow up if anything changes.
• Log every call and job accurately in the dispatch system so the morning team picks up clean.
• Communicate clearly with on-call techs and crew chiefs, and escalate to on-call management when a situation needs it.
• Hold composure and a steady, reassuring tone with customers who are stressed, frightened, or mid-crisis.

What we're looking for

• Dependable and punctual — overnight reliability is the whole job.
• Calm under pressure, with clear, warm phone communication.
• Strong multitasking and attention to detail; comfortable juggling calls, a dispatch screen, and live crews at once.
• Able to make quick, sound decisions with incomplete information.
• Basic computer skills and comfort learning dispatch/scheduling software.
• High school diploma or equivalent. Prior dispatch, call center, customer service, or logistics experience is a plus.
• Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
