Summary
Acquisition & Development Manager is highly proficient in the fundamentals of real estate development while continuing to learn and grow. He or she will have some basic experience with the acquisition of sites and development of residential product and will work collaboratively, and at times independently, supporting project direction and execution to achieve superior results. Acquisition & Development Manager will support partners, clients and colleagues to achieve both individual and team-oriented success.

Key Responsibilities
Included, but not limited to, the following:
∙ Site Search, Underwriting & Acquisition: Sources, evaluates, and underwrites land acquisition opportunities (multifamily, for-sale, and mixed-use) throughout the Bay Area, in alignment with the firm’s growth priorities. Cultivates relationships with brokers, landowners, municipalities, and capital partners to support long-term deal flow.
∙ Managing Projects: Supports internal and external project teams through the design and execution of the development business plan. Able to be a “self-starter” on many tasks and responsibilities. Seeks ideas to eliminate obstacles, improve processes and achieve results. Supports material preparations for presentations at public hearings. Maintains focus on detailed budgets and schedules. Monitors financial status and project risks and effectively communicates with partners, clients, co-workers and other stakeholders. Develops scopes of work for design team consultants, tracks work completed against contract scopes and fees. Reviews project plans at key milestones for completeness and coordination, in collaboration with the design teams.

∙ Education and Experience: Bachelor’s degree from four-year College or university required. Work experience, equivalent to 3 years as a Project Manager or similar. Completion and delivery of an entire residential project is desirable. Applicable degree fields include Engineering, Construction, Architecture, Economics, Business, Math, or Political Science. A Graduate degree in Construction, Engineering, or an MBA is preferred but not required.
∙ Professional Expertise: Experience managing the design and construction of residential product, including for-rent or for-sale projects. Specifically, experience overseeing the construction phase including working as a representative of the owner to manage the design and construction team through the construction and delivery phases. develop proficiency in a variety of subjects critical to successful outcomes in real estate development, including but not limited to: CEQA, environmental toxics and applicable regulatory agencies, real estate finance and pro formas, insurance, accounting, contract negotiation, writing skills, and critical thinking. Ability to read and critique plans and specifications and understand the construction process. Develop a basic knowledge of BIM and critical path scheduling.
∙ Computer Skills: Proficiency with AI, document, spreadsheet, and email software tools including but not limited to Claude or Gemini, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook is required; proficiency with Sketch Up, Blue Beam, and graphics, also preferred, as is a general comfort with learning new software programs.
∙ Travel: Frequent travel around the local Bay Area is required; must have current driver’s license and automobile insurance. Some out-of-town travel may also occasionally be required.
∙ Physical Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the individual is regularly required to sit and/or stand and reach with hands and arms. The individual must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, and color vision. Hearing and talking are regularly required.
